Why Do I Run?

As a runner, the number one question I get is why?

To most, running is nothing more than a punishment for other sports. To runners its so much more.

So here’s 30 reasons why I choose to run

I run because I love food

I run because sometimes I need to escape the world

I run because I love the feeling of sore muscles after a long run

I run because I love collecting bibs and medals

I run because I love racing

I run because I love complaining about running

I run because it’s a distraction

I run because I love how it makes me feel

I run because of the people

I run because I love reading spectator posters

I run because you get out of it what you put in

I run because it’s fun

I run because of the new experiences

I run because I love the “runner” title

I run because punching people is frowned upon

I run because in order to run you have to keep moving forward

I run because what if there’s a zombie apocalypse

I run because I love proving the people who said I can’t wrong

I run because it makes me feel strong

I run because it makes me feel alive

I run because I don’t want to talk to anybody

I run because I want a “free” t-shirt

I run because I have zero hand-eye coordination

I run because it makes me feel healthy

I run because it gives me something to work for

I run because running clothes are comfortable

I run because it makes me happy

I run because it gives me energy

I run because it gives me an excuse to take a nap

 

I run because I can
